| Customer Reviews: BORING August 15, 2010 ant Played this for about an hour and was very bored. You go up hundreds of ranks of repetative matches that bore you to death before you get a challenge on this game. it sucks..........................
Stay away from this game June 28, 2010 cristianpixio The smeplicity of this game is embarassing, I'm 1st in the world ranking after 1 week of game (and I'm not a PS3 addicted), it's too simple, I won EVERITHING without the necessity to play again some tournament.
Bad, very bad game
40-Love.. well maybe 40-Like December 18, 2009 Bruce Banner (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Deuce! That small word which lets everyone know that the scores in a tennis match are currently tied sums up how I feel about this latest release of Virtua Tennis compared to its previous instalment.
By know you have read the reviews, possibly even played the game and are still unsure about it.. well thats how I feel anyway. I'm not sure if this is a sequel in the usual sense of the word more a slight upgrade. Not that there is anything wrong with sticking to a tried and tested formula as the boys/girls at Konami have found out to their cost with Pro Evo.
Therefore the positives of this game remain in large the same, exciting, easy to play, good sound and graphics. However, where this game falls is the lack of polish. Examples of this are the poor tournament award ceremonies which seem to have been put together at the last minute as the resounding click as the short animated sequence ends is testament to. Also there appears to be a minor issue with the screen `jerking' on some shots as it seems to struggle to keep up to pace with the game.
There are also a few extreme tennis fans that argue that you should be able to play full matches in the tournament mode. This would be great if Virtua Tennis 2009 is the one game that you have got as I for one know that the game was long enough to play in my opinion.
There is also the age old comparison between realism and fun! Granted VT 2009 is not the realistic game as you will find it near on impossible to hit a shot too long or not to get it in court unless it is slammed at 155 mph at your player, but this adds to the fun of it all and I'm sure it is good to introduce novices to the game.
Fun mini games make a welcome appearance in some cases and downright frustrating in others as you are supposed to guess what you have to do in order to successfully complete the relevant stage
Minor gripes aside I think this is a solid effort from Sega but hopefully more time and effort will be sent on the next Virtua Tennis giving a more polished product. The rebranding of the Virtua Series with the relevant year I hope is not a sign of sub standard releases to be churned out on a yearly basis.
Virtua tennis 2009 November 4, 2009 Nuno Santos (Portugal) Its a great game for people who like tennis. In my opinion are missing a lot of good tennis players but that is one of the few problems of the game because in general is pretty good
