Product Description

Renaissance Italy isn't the usual sort of setting for a video game, but then Assassin's Creed isn't one to play by the rules. Ezio Auditore di Firenze is yet another ancestor of modern day Desmond Miles - a nobleman out to avenge the death of his family in the guise of a shadowy assassin.

Like the last game you're given total freedom to explore multiple cities, but with greatly improved parkour skills and the new ability to swim. There's also a lot more variety in the missions you undertake - the main complaint with the original game- so you'll never feel you're just doing the same tasks over and over again.

Combat has also been completely overhauled, with dozens of different weapons and a new health system. With no less than Leonardo da Vinci acting as your very own Q style gadget master this stunning sequel improves on every element of the original.

  • Renaissance man: Play as an all-new character in 15th century Italy, with new abilities, new weapons and a whole new world to explore.
  • The spice of life: Massively improved mission variety, with new freeform mission structures and many more random events.
  • Tools of the trade: All-new combat system lets you steal weapons from your opponents, use dual hidden blades and even an early form of pistol.
  • Real history: Meet historical figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Niccol Machiavelli and Lorenzo de' Medici, all of whom can offer you their own unique brand of aid.
  • Tourist spots: Explore real world locations including Rome, Venice, Florence and Tuscany, as well as specific landmarks such as the Grand Canal and St Mark's Basilica.

Ezio is just as dangerous an assassin as his forebear
Da Vinci's glider is just one of the gadgets on offer
The level of detail in the graphics is astonishing
The canals of Venice come in very handy for stealth attacks

Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars A huge improvement   March 10, 2010
Davib B. Gard (England)
ok, i reviewed the first assains creed and only gave it two star, this game is brilliant. Ubisoft really did listen to peoples complaints (a rareity in any business) and checked out all of them. Its certainly not repetitive, and gameplay is hugely entertaining. You can also see that for some level designs Ubisoft took inspiration from Prince of Persia Warrior Within, which is great. The story in this case is actually good. All in all this game is a huge success and completely overshadows any other game on the market of this type. GET IT!

5 out of 5 stars I love this game...!!!   March 8, 2010
J. N. Bailey
I've just finihsed this game....93% complete.....only a few feathers left to collect...

if you liked the first AC you will love this one. I'm sad that I've pretty much finished it and have downloaded the two extra mission packs now....

So, whats better about it then? Nowhere near as much repetition, improved story (including the animus bits), good characters and acting, improved mission types, weapons upgrades and also this game gives you more incentive to get all the collectables. The renovations in the villa is a nice touch...the game also has lots of little side quests like the glyphs, which did have me scratching my head a few times and also the assassin tombs, providing a great mix of action and platforming skills.

..and just to add the graphics and sounds are stunning as well as the smoothness of the control of Ezio....

For this price you can't go wrong i reckon....

2 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing!   February 21, 2010
Jonathan Allen (Ireland)
This is a hard one for me.
I am playing catch-up with this game, recently I've played Uncharted 2, Bioshock 2, and mass Effect 2. I bought AS2 when the price came down as I'm waiting for Heavy rain and FFXiii.
That said this game seems very substandard to the above mentioned games, graphically Assassins Creed is awful, screen tearing, character models and lip syncing are not good and the game suffers as a result and it is hard to get immersed in the game as the glitches keep jarring you 'out' of the game world.
I find the missions boring, and the world of renaissance Italy becomes very static.
I really wanted to enjoy this game but just can not get over the glitches to play it for long enough to get into it. Shame really, an opportunity lost to make up for all the bad press after the first installment.
That said, AS2 is vastly superior to AS1. A much larger improvement that all the above mentioned sequels but still very disappointing. I don't think I'll bother with Assassins Creed 3. Sorry Ubisoft..nice effort but it's a fail

5 out of 5 stars so much better than the first   February 21, 2010
C. DAYMAN (england)
it is better than the first in so many ways. to name a few:
-you collect money
-you by new weapons
-you by new armour
-you can change your apperance etc...
i would recommend this 100% to anyone who loved to first game, but if you have not played the first game then buy the first game to then play this as then this will make sense.

5 out of 5 stars assassins creed 2   February 21, 2010
Neil Brennan (Rochdale, Lancs United Kingdom)
a slow start to the game but once past this point it soon picks up. there are many new features and the story line is good. it is more challenging than the first one and has alot more for you to, it is not as repetative as the first game. you can develop your own style of play and look and there is alot more accesories and gadgets for you to try out. 9/10
