Amazon.co.uk Review Last year's game topped the league and now the all-new FIFA 10 is looking to defend its title as the number one football action game. More realistic than ever, this latest sequel has greatly improved artificial intelligence, ball physics and graphics. The best gets better as FIFA raises the bar on football sims | Player likenesses are more realistic than ever | The new dribbling system gives even tighter control | The manager mode has seen significant improvement | Brand new this year is the 360 degree dribbling system, giving you the most precise control ever. There are also changes to how the defensive line is formed, as well as improvements to crosses, freekicks and goalkeepers (who can now receive red cards). Naturally the game retains its hugely successful on and offline multiplayer modes, with new options and better stability for online play. The manager mode has also seen a massive update to make it just as deep and complex as the main game. With all these new features and more EA Sports are betting on FIFA remaining the champions for a long time to come. Key Features - Leagues better: The world's most successful football sim gets even better with improvements across the board, including physics, controls and multiplayer options.
- Dynamic dribble: New 360 degree dribbling control system allows for pixel perfect control of the ball at all times.
- Football focus: Newly improved artificial intelligence ensures teammates and opponents always move with a purpose and stay focused on the ball at all times.
- Beautiful game: Massively improved graphics, including better player likenesses, new crowd animations and new rain and snow effects that really affect the gameplay.
- Master manager: Greatly expanded manager mode, with a revamped experience point system and staff upgrades, a new interface and the chance to edit kit numbers.
About the Developer: EA Canada EA's largest development studio is responsible for some of the biggest brands for EA Sports, including the FIFA series, NBA Live, NHL and SSX. They have also just taken over the Fight Night franchise. Their offices employ over a thousand staff, with three separate production studios.

| Customer Reviews: Ruined by poor controls and general sluggishness March 4, 2010 SA1 (UK) One word which sums up this game for me is 'frustrating'. The first thing which you notice is the surprisingly horrible and unbelievably slow menu system which makes simple things like changing your squad formation or watching a replay an absolute chore. In manager mode the you have to wait several seconds after every game for what appears to be just 10 transfers to take place when the transfer window is open.
I can only describe the game controls as terrible, its quite hard to put into words their awfulness. They have a strange loose feel to them, like you're not really connected with the action. You seem to be constantly fighting against your own players to get them to do what you want. The poor controls are shown up most when you're in a tight spot surrounded by the opposition.
The game is played at quite a slow pace compared to other footy games I've played. The graphics are ok but its often quite difficult to tell some teams apart even though at set up the kits appear completely different. The players also seem a bit too thin to me.
The shooting mechanism is simply awful, I've lost count of the number of times I've run through on goal with a good striker , pressed shoot , only for the ball to dribble pathetically into the goalkeepers arms like a weak backpass. I can find no logic to this as my player is running onto the ball carrying lots of momentum.
Like other reviewers have mentioned crossing and heading is unbelievably ineffective. Time after time your players header crosses over or wide when it appears easier to score. The number of times you hit the post or the referee gets in the way is phenomenal.
I find the skill moves to be almost entirely useless in practise , they can't be executed when your player is sprinting for one thing, something the manual doesn't mention. Quite often the player does nothing when you try a skill move, and when he does pull one off he usually goes in some bizarre uncontrollable direction afterwards.
The replay system is also very poor, I still cannot work out how to view the replays as I want, the rotate camera option with the right and left sticks is always greyed out meaning I can't get a decent angle, I don't really understand why this is the case.
The only good thing about this game for me is that you can configure the in-game camera angle to your ideal postion. I can't understand the 5 star reviews for this game.
"Exellent, makes PES 2010 look rubbish!!!" March 2, 2010 This is an exellent Football Game. It got amazing 360 degree dribling, and to add to that phonemenal Graphics. The Gameplay is smooth and sutile, the passing feels your actually playing. All the players are rated 1-100, with Messi and (if you update the lates squad) Ronaldo being the highest - 90.
It's pretty simple, if you want a football game then buy this you wont be disappionted.
Overall- 10/10- The best football game to date.

Who would have thought that the day would come when I .. a die hard pro evolution soccer for life would go over to the dark side that is FIFA! Well this momentous occasion has happened and I have to admit I'm glad I made the change.
For the last few years any real pro evo fan, those that have been with the franchise since the days of International Superstar soccer deluxe on the SNES in my case, would readily admit that the once great game has not made the transition from PS2 to PS3 well. I would even go as far as to say its been a fairly lazy effort as they seemed quite willing to not get the basics right.
Anyway, having not ventured near a FIFA game since the days of my PS1, I still had visions of an overly simplistic, shoot from anywhere no atmosphere experience.
Well how times have changed FIFA has matured into a smooth, elegant experience of the beautiful game that is footie.
Free flowing attacking football, the odd goal mouth scramble, defensive mistakes and unbelievable misses all add up to the excitement. Together with a bucketload of teams and various play options this is what I expected from the PS3 and what I expected from PES.
FIFAs management mode is like Master League on steroids lol Only in my first year as I'm playing every match, but I can see the class shining through.
Don't get me wrong there are a few annoying faults like the amount of times the ball hits the ref or the post! After the first few times this just gets plain annoying!
Graphically I cannot fault it, but again the crowd effects just aren't BIG enough .. but perhaps that is because I'm playing with Spurs! lol
If you are looking for a footie game on the PS3 then I guess that FIFA 10 is your best option for now until the PES bods wake up and get their act back together.
Oh and before the PES fanboys start yes I have played PES 2010 and no I wasn't overly impressed. But I am hoping that PES goes back to the glory days and puts out another quality product.
Incredibly disappointing! February 21, 2010 Michael (Essex, England) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this game on the day it was released and thought it was great! Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is top notch and requires little improvement, however, I only really play the manager mode and feel that this season's is diabolical, which is why I've given it a mere 2 stars.
The board confidence decreases if you lose a friendly, you cannot substitute more that 3 players in a friendly, I have never had an injury that lasts longer than 1 week, an FA cup match will not go to a replay if you draw, the board moan at me for offering players money that we don't have (which you can't actually do) randomly outside of the transfer window and the face uploader is a complete waste of time and looks nothing like me!
I have been through 6 seasons and now manage Inter Milan after starting my campaign with Notts County. Well, I say I now manage Inter Milan, I got sacked for being top of the league, top of the Champions League table and losing ONE game in the Champions League because I was resting players for my next match, which was in a couple of days against AC Milan. I beat them 4-0 and then got sacked!!! So after 5 months of playing, I got the sack for losing ONE game and now am only offered rubbish jobs, which puts me back to square one. As I have auto save on, my campaign has been ruined. 2 stars, absolute garbage and waste of my time!
