I play way to much, I have 3 platinum trophies, and i'm a ps3 fanboy. My favourite genre would be action/adventre (Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2), second FPS (MW2, MAG, and Battlefield), and third is driving (Burnout Paradise, Midnight Club: LA, and GRAN TURISMO 5!!!) .... I like a bit of everything, meaning I was one of the first people online with Killzone 3, I've got more than a hundred online wins on FIFA 10 and I've downloaded about 60 songs from the SingStore. ...

Make no mistake: this is a shooter in Single-Player mode. There are no puzzles, it is mostly a matter of progressing by shooting up everything and everyone.
Graphics are fabulous, scenarious are huge and beautifully made. Dang, such a lot of work has been put into every little detail. It is quite a dark game, but you never need a flashlight: another proof of the care the developers have applied. Cutscenes are spot on and enhance the game no end.
Moving around is a pleasure: a very true to life weaving and bobbing gives the impression of heavy armor and weaponry.
Everything is a matter of finding cover and taking cover. Stand out in the open and you are done for: take cover and stay there, quick glances to position the enemies, be prepared to scurry off if a grenade comes bouncing, take out the enemy by short bursts, dive behind cover again. Use the surroundings, select the best from the available weapons: many is the time I have bogged down only to realize a barrage from a grenade launcher would have cleared everyting in no time.
It seldom pays to rush. Stay down and behind cover, enjoy the scenery. Enjoy the graphics, enjoy the noise, enjoy the thrill of darkness and danger. Enjoy the blazing non-stop action.

Killzone is a futuristic FPS set on the grey world of the Helghast. In Killzone 1 for the ps2 you were a member of the ISA, defending one of their planets against the evil Helghans (space nazi's)In Killzone 2, it's your turn. You are the alpha squad and your asignment is to take out the anti aircraft towers that stop the main part of the ISA forces to land on the planet Helghast.
Now to the game
The first you'll notice about Killzone 2 are it's graphics. Even though I review this more than one year after it's out, it still looks pretty amazing. For the first couple of hours, maybe even for the whole playthrough, you will be amazed by the nice graphics. But after that effect has worn off, you'll be facing a pretty boring shooter that isn't anything special.
Singleplayer - The singleplayer mode took me about 9 hours to finish. It's basically about the ISA invading the Helghans homeplanet. You play as Sev (in the first installment you were able to choose as who you play) who's member of the Alpha squad who apparently are a group of super soldiers that can take out armies. This is a straight FPS experience though. Don't expect any kind of squad based gameplay in the singleplayer mode. Even though it is fun to play, the game lacks any kind of depth or interesting story. Like I said before, after the "WOW" effect has worn off, you'll be bored as hell. And after the first play through you are probably not going to play through it again.
Multiplayer - I am reviewing this over a year after it's out, so there are nearly no servers left and nearly no people left playing anymore. But from what I saw, you can play with up to 32 players, both teams will be split in squads (which you have to do manually) and you try to do whatever the objectives are. There are plenty of modes to choose from such as bodycount (team deathmatch) Assasination, or (i don't know how it is called) domination which is just like domination in CoD. Also you get a very nice class and level up system. All in all very nice multiplayer, but lack of people playing and generic maps make it a pain to play.
The Verdict - Killzone 2 is a very nice titel to show what the ps3 can do. But unlike UC2 or GoW3 it doesn't succeed in terms of gameplay. It can get very repetive and generic at times, and the characters are cliche. But it in no way fails or does anything wrong. So I give this game a 8/10, 4/5

Since I bought Killzone 2, 3 months ago, all my other games are gathering dust. Killzone2 is the only game I am playing everyday. The SP is great but the online multiplayer modes are just awesome.
If you are a FPS fan, then there is no game better than this one.

just,the story is so boring,the online is the ONLY,and i mean ONLY good thing about it,all though,the detail in everything is INCREDIBLE!!!............thats all....
If you don't go online with your ps3(BTW is free),don't buy it!

I haven't played its predecessor which was released for the Playstation 2 but I still enjoyed this game after playing through its campaign. I enjoyed every second of its online game and it's so fun! Even after playing Modern Warfare 2 and you still don't have this one give it a chance, it's all worth it! Blowin heads off! \m/
