Product Description
(Region free, Full English language, will play on any PS3 console system) Colin McRae: DIRT is the most diverse and exhilarating off-road racing experience ever with sensational gravel, mud and dirt events the world over. Events include the series` intense point-to-point races and takes players further off-road than ever before. Race in challenging heavyweight 850bhp cars, drifting on the loose gravel and high-speed blind corners of Hill Climb events along perilous cliff edges. All 12.4 miles of the world famous Pikes Peak International is included, with over 150 precarious turns to negotiate through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. How about engaging in multiple car races with Dakar-style trucks and super-powered 4x4s on the toughest desert terrain in Rally Raid competitions? Then there are Rally Cross events, switching between dirt and road racing, where the competition is always tight, fast and collisions with your opponents are inevitable. Colin McRae: DIRT also offers a dedicated mode for European, International and Global rally championships featuring official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars. Colin McRae: DIRT delivers the wheel-screaming exhilaration of off-road racing with the next generation of the series` sublime car handling and physics system and a devastating new damage engine that ensures players experience every bump in the track, every loose rock, every inch of shifting dirt through the reactive environments. With an incredible range of off-road vehicles, thrill-packed tracks, modes that make the most of online multiplayer, and more varied events than any other single-championship rally game, Colin McRae is a bigger, faster, wilder racing experience.

| Customer Reviews: Great Game March 23, 2010 uk This provides great entertainement. Range of vehicles.
Hours of fun. Gives a great feel of rally driving
Still great fun. January 19, 2010 Duncan McDonald (Dundee) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have played all of the Colin McRae games. I also played all of the WRC games which I much preferred. Until now. WRC may be no more but this game steps up to the mark. This is a bit improvement over previous titles.
The career mode allows you to progress up a tier of events you unlock with pionts. These are a mix of courses and vehicles so there is plenty variety. Trucks, buggies, rally cars, and rally raids, you name it. You earn cash depending on your selected difficulty and this is used to buy vehicles to enter events. Its compelling stuff and great fun.
The Rally mode is the traditional rally championships. There are four, unlocked sequentially with a podium finish. The courses are great with some excellent design and can be challenging. The game does ooze excitement and a good sense of speed.
You can also do single rally and stages in Rally world.
If you are looking for some online action. Forget it. The online mode is now off, presumably in preferrence to DiRT2.
Overall, this is a great racer. Graphics are still excellent despite the bronze hue and the sound effects and car handling are equally as good. There are hours of fun in this game and it is just as good now as it was when it was released a couple of years ago.
It's good, but I wouldn't say it's great... September 25, 2009 Thomas Walters (East Kilbride) It was good however, it is not a mulitplayer unless you are online, which was very disapointing." Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box or Race Driver GRID is far better.
Almost There! September 16, 2009 N. Cross (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a massive fan of rally games and have enjoyed playing Dirt.
It has everything that is to be expected from the genre, the options to play through career, tournament or single races is standard nowadays. The grand total of less than 50 vehicles is not fantastic, but respectable.
The vehicles have been well created and the detail of damage is of a good standard with body parts and trim flapping in the wind after a bump or two. The landscapes are detailed and realistic and the layout of tracks are also well thought through offering a range of challenges from fast corners and long straights to tight twisty tracks in the Japanese mountains.
There are issues with the game, firstly there is no weather variation which has such a big impact on all motor sports, but especially rally. And the main problem for me is that I just did not connect with the feeling that I was driving a rally car. The change of terrain from gravel, tarmac or dirt made very little difference in the handling and the vehicles seemed to glide over the terran rather than grunt and tear their way through it. It felt more like handling a hovercraft at times. Further to this the co-driver could sometimes warn of a hairpin, once you have slammed into the barriers (ie a bit late) and on other occassions pre warn you of the next 20 upcoming bends all in one go that you completely lose track. And the last complaint is that the scoreboard appears in the top right corner of the screen at every time split, which means that if you have any right hand turns coming up - you will not be able to see it!
That said the range of tracks and vehicles on offer, the good graphics and equally competent audio makes this a good arcade game to pick up and play. But for hardened racing fans I would have to advise Race Driver - Grid is the better and more complete game.
Very good racing game August 28, 2009 Cristóvão Luis Silva (Lisbon, Portugal) I felt you really start to feel the power and fastness of this game when you begin the rally modes. Although amusing the races with other competitors are a little bit what we are used to see in other racing games.
It's a lot of fun and trully challenging.
