I will add to the comments of people who say "If you like Oblivion you'll love this!" For me, Fallout took a while longer to get into than Oblivion but once I was hooked I was truly addicted! It has a brilliant sense of humour, the graphics are amazing - definitely buy the GOTY edition as the add-ons are well worth it. If you don't get into it straight away, do bear with it as once it gets going it is just amazing. I have spent about 10 hours playing it today alone (oops!)

It really doesn't get any better than this. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any stretch but I was bought Fallout 3 by a good friend and I didn't know what to make of it to begin with. I gave it a chance and was hooked within the first 20 minutes. I am now 150 hours down the line and it still suprises me. Fantastic story, great characters, unlimited roaming and music that will give you the shivers.
Once you start playing this you better kiss goodbye to the outside world.

If you liked oblivion then you will love this!
A great open world with hours and hours of play, there are some very nice features like the ability to enter a turn based combat rather than just live action. This is very useful if surrounded.
It was worth buying the game of the year edition.

Game itself is excellent. However, at least this PS3 GOTY edition hangs quite often after couple of hours and does not seem to run smoothly overall. The further you advance, the worse it gets. Had to switch to SD resolution to make it playable again, but still unstable :(
Addictive, Immense and Bug Ridden June 9, 2010

This was the third ever video game I had played, the first being resistance and the second riddick. I'm a great fan of post apocalyptic fiction so I was really looking forward to it. It is devastatingly addictive, and is likely to cause a domestic world war if you don't have a separate machine and TV to play it on. I can honestly say that once we got started I don't think the TV was on TV for about 3 months in our house. It was easy to learn even for me, and that means for everyone, and it's almost impossible to finish. After a year we still haven't played out all the possibilities. The biggest issue though is that we are spoiled for other games, we can't find anything even close for the PS3. The first person view is great as you really feel like you ARE the character, Yes the bugs are a PITA. It's better without the add ons, but if you can live with them they are also excellent, although anchorage is a bit naff, not up to the standard of the rest. I think if we had not become addicted to the original we probably would not have persevered with the GOTY due to all the freezes and slow refresh rates. If the bugs were fixed I would have given it 10 out of 5 if I could, but as it is 4 will have to do. Having tried Dragon Age and Oblivion AFTER this, it just highlighted to me how immense FALLOUT 3 is. I can't wait for New Vegas.
