I have always been a big fan of the Command & Conquer series but felt that it was going a bit stale somewhat sicne EA took over the rights from Westwood Studios.
But Red Alert 3 marks a return to what we know and love from the orignal C&C games. A crazy story, insane weapons and for the first time all in glorious HD. Granted the controls take some getting used to but you do get the benefit of a full multi-stage tutorial explaining everything about the basics, base building and strategy as this game (As have all the other C&C games) require a lot of quick decisions.
The cutscenes are entertaining and sometimes hilarious in their cheesiness from actors such as Star Trek's George Takei who plays as the leader of a new faction to go against the Allies and the Soviets called "The Empire Of The Rising Sun"
I would highly reccommend getting a console port of this game (I myself bought the PS3 version). I have not played the PC version yet but I have heard of numerous problems related to it.
Now if you excuse me, im off to destroy soviet warships using dolphins.

Not the best at writing game reviews but I'll give it a go. Havn't played a C&C or Red Alert game since Red Alert 2, missed out on Yuri's revenge and all the ones in the middle, and then thought i would rent the PS3 verson of Red Alert 3, see what I've been missing out on. All i can say is that it didnt' leave my console until every single missing and skirmish was finished. The graphics were amazing, the game play is great, the story is good, and obviously the girls are great as well. the All star cast was very surprising, and was funny to see their "tongue in cheek" acting, but all very very good. The only down side i would say is the control system, although it only took an hour or so to get used to, still on the last level i was selecting unit with out meaning to, however this is only a small small con. All in all i think this is Red alert how westwood intended it. and a must for any die hard red alert fans!

This is a short review, well more of a comment. Being a great fan of this game, Red Alert 3 is more of the same live action, tongue in cheek awesome gameplay you can always safely bet on.
However I took a risk and decided to buy it for the PS3 as the new control system was highly recommended by other reviewers, this is not the case. Yet again I have had my fingers burned by trying to play complex RTS games on a console, I have since bought this for the PC and I would rate that version 5 stars out of 5.
DO NOT BUY FOR CONSOLE! Do this game the justice it deserves and go keyboard mouse!

I recently purchased this product as I was a huge fan of previous releases but upon playing the game the gameplay is very dated and does not hold much replay value as the main missions are far too easy and there is too much variation with the online play and you will always either win easily or loose dramatically there is never a close fight

I simply love it, I was very doubtful because I had never tried a strategy game on PS3 before but the controls are great. The game is really good, it's silly plot, but thus the awesomeness.
The videos, the music, the girls, the online,.. fun, fun, fun,...
The online skirmish are increadibly entertaining.
